Testimonials:

“I can't tell you how grateful I am to have this space and practice to go to--to ground myself. I have really loved every minute of this group. I told my partner at one point this summer, “Artist’s Way is the only thing getting me through right now,” and he was like, “Hey! what about me!?” We had a good laugh. In all seriousness, the space that Cinda and everyone attending created was so welcoming for me to be vulnerable and for me to grow this summer as a whole being in my creative, spiritual, and career path realm. Thank you, thank you for the support and the sharing throughout this book club.” - Molly

“I'd encourage this class for anyone who feels stuck or lost — that their day-to-day is mismatched from how they want to spend their time or the life they're currently leading is disconnected from how they imagine their future. Cinda is the ultimate hype woman and cheerleader. She accepts and inspires you through every step of your journey. Each week, I looked forward to connecting with Cinda and my Artist's Way classmates and I walked away feeling inspired, at ease, and Oh So Giddy.” - Emily

“I am so grateful for Lucinda and The Artist's Way! I went into this class with no expectations other than two different really amazing women in my life had recommended the book (the events that led to me finding this group was definitely a big synchronicity!). My experience in class was better than I could have hoped. Reading The Artist's Way is a LOT, and having the group made getting through it extremely manageable and held me accountable. Lucinda led every meeting with such openness and compassion and created a perfect space for vulnerability, warmth, and friendship. The book and the discussions helped me think more critically about my life and many of my perspectives in a way I really hadn't before, and I'm very excited to continue my personal journey and do another class in the future. Thank you Cinda, you are so amazing and an inspiration!” - Annie

"I'm so glad I finally gave myself the gift of this book and class. The whole experience far exceeded my expectations in terms of self growth, discipline, and constant revelations about creativity/lack thereof. Not to mention the amazing women that inspired me to show up every week. I always felt supported and safe to be vulnerable. As someone that makes art as their occupation, I'm already seeing big differences in the way I show up, my attitude towards creating, and my follow through! What an incredible journey!" - Alisha

"This book club brought so much joy, creativity, and connection into my life! I highly recommend it for anyone interested in living a more intentional and creative life, whether you consider yourself an artist or not. Having read the book once before on my own, I found the group experience to be a very special way to tackle the program and Lucinda is an incredible facilitator." - Morgan

What if I am not an artist? What if I do not think of myself as a creative person (and even the word "creative" kind of scares me?)

One of my best friends and lacrosse teammates from college began this book, and in the first week she shared in class: "The reading said to take your Inner Artist for a walk…And I don't know who the fuck my inner artist is or what that means......"

The book scared her and she was very open about her discomfort; and yet, she still committed to the readings, journaling and tasks, and I saw a transformation that I cannot fully articulate within this text box...But it is all to say:  this book is for everyone.

What is the commitment? What do the 12-weeks look like?

Each week you will read one chapter (10-20 pages); respond to at least one task at the end of the chapter;  go on an artist date (a solo, fun thing for yourself ranging from 15 minutes to 2 hours); journal 3 pages every morning.

What if I can't come to every call/complete all of the homework?

My motto is show up as you are; we miss out on so much thinking we have to be 100% energized/happy/ready/motivated/healthy to show up.   I find it important to show up to every call, even if you did not do the homework - or else you will fall off the bandwagon.  The accountability and inspiration of the group is a HUGE part of completing the journey and reading the book.  I also encourage you to not miss two classes in a row; in general, we fall off sticking to habits if we miss something 2-times in a row.

The first time I read this book, I felt as though I half-assed it, and that annoyed me. I felt like I did not get as much out of it as I had hoped. Yet - it still changed my life. The second time I read it, I took it more seriously and I got more out of it. The entire journey is however much you want to put into it. There will be seasons of your life that you can commit the full reading, tasks, morning pages, etc. There will be seasons where you cannot complete everything in full - but it's important to still show up to the things that make you feel GOOD and feel like your most authentic self, even if you can't "show up" to the extent you hope.  We miss out on a lot of things in life thinking we are not ready or we cannot fully commit - but I just want you to dive in as you are in this moment and show up.

What if I do not feel comfortable talking or sharing a lot in book clubs?

Each week there are basic check-in questions that each person has a few moments to respond to (ie: "Did you do your morning pages this week? if so, how many of the days did you journal?"). With these check-in questions, there is the opportunity to share as little or as much as you'd like. They are all basic and approachable questions. Beyond that, you can sit and listen to others if that is your preference!
